Motion Memory is an ongoing series of abstract paintings that explore how physical experiences are stored and recalled through the body rather than the intellect. Working without predetermined subjects, the paintings emerge through decisive, dark gestural marks that suggest force, suspension, tension, and commitment. Only afterward do associations surface—ski lifts, machinery, descent, repetition—revealing how motion leaves residue in memory long after the event itself. The works move between structure and sensation, control and release, allowing recognition to arise organically while remaining rooted in abstraction. The paintings reflect an embodied understanding of movement as something lived, remembered, and continually re-experienced rather than represented.
